The Merlion is considered a mascot for Singapore and
consists of a lion head and fish body, "mer" meaning
sea and lion the fish body comes from Singapore's
ancient name back when it was a fishing village.

can hold up to 5,000 worshippers.

China town, Buddha tooth relic temple is the biggest
Buddhist temple in Singapore a must see if your
interested in Chinese architecture. It consists of four
floors and has a great garden on the top floor.

times of the year due to the different cultures and
different dates for there new years.

As always when visiting a Buddhist temple you need to
be respectful and dress conservatively. The temple
houses some very interesting stuff.

In Little India you can find many Hindu temples the
biggest of them is called Sri-Veerama-Kaliammann
temple.
In Little India you will find many little shops that sell
Indian spices and textile goods, great little place for
lunch with lots of little restaurants serving traditional
India food and lots of vegetarian dishes.
You can also find a very big shopping mall in
Little India called Mustafa's well worth a look
if your after a bargain.

National Orchid garden's are found in the center of the
Botanic gardens, opened on 20th of October 1995
by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. This three hectares
of carefully landscaped slopes provide a setting for over
1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids with over 600
species and hybrids on display.
If you like flowers in any way you should visit and
make sure you have you camera.

are huge and a very relaxing place to
wonder.

Ah the great Aussie steak pie the only place i have
seen them in Singapore is in the Jurong Bird Park,
a great place to go for a day out with the African falls,
pelican show, eagle feeding, hawk show and much much
more to wonder round and see.
Jurong Bird park the largest in the world opened
in 1971 with 4,600 birds and 380 species.
Committed towards conservation, the Bird Park is
the first in the world to breed the Twelve-wired Bird
of Paradise in captivity and received the Breeders’
Award from the American Pheasant and Waterfowl
Society in 2001. In 2006, the Bird Park became the
recipient of the Conservation & Research Award for
the Oriental Pied Hornbill Conservation Project by IV
International Symposium on Breeding Birds in Captivity
(ISBBC). In Asia, Jurong Bird Park is the only park in
the Asia Pacific to have an Avian Hospital. It has a
Breeding and Research Centre tasked to ensure the
welfare, breeding and promulgation of bird life and is
also an Official Rescue Avian Centre.

Wildlife Health care and Research Centre was set up in
March 2006. In 2009, 1.6 million visitors enjoyed the
experiential learning experience at the 28-hectare
award-winning Zoo. Singapore Zoo is part of
Wildlife Reserves Singapore. The Zoo is a designated
rescued wildlife centre.
